Jimmie Darnell Sydnor

Mr. Jimmie Darnell Sydnor, 46, was called home to eternal rest on March 24, 2023.

Mr. Sydnor was born in South Boston, VA on January 29, 1977 to Cheryl Sydnor Carter and Dennis Coles, but his early years of upbringing were supported by Jerome Carter. At an early age he accepted Christ into his life, and joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA. He began his education in Mecklenburg County Schools attending Clarksville Elementary and Bluestone Middle and High School in Skipwith. He continued his education in Prince George’s County, MD into high school and obtained his GED.

Mr. Sydnor was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was always full of energy and loved to do or try most things life had to offer. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who kept it real, and often advised on things he learned about life. He did not let his circumstances stop him from building and maintaining a relationship with his close family members. Jimmie was a fighter, and his family fought right with him through the years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Cheryl Sydnor Carter, Bowie, MD; three sisters, Veneta Lashell Sydnor, Durham, NC, Angela Michelle Sydnor, Washington, DC, and Veronica Coles, Stovall, NC; two brothers, Dennis Coles Jr., Stovall, NC, and Clifton Coles (LaShauna), Fountain, CO; his grandfather, Lloyd Howerton Sr. of Maryland; three aunts, Vynette Duncan of North Carolina, Timi Ford of Maryland, and Voncea Howerton of MD; four uncles, Lloyd Howerton Jr. and Garrett Howerton both of Maryland, Thomas Gregory and Dax Nelson both of North Carolina two nieces, Akira Veneta Montague (Timothy, Jr.),Wilson, NC and De’johna Shauntel Sydnor, Bowie, MD; three nephews, Gary Shaunte’ Thomas Jr., Treyvon Darnell Sydnor, Bowie, MD and Kameron Mastin, Jr., Rocky Mount, NC; one great-nephew, Jakobi’ Darnell Montague of North Carolina; one great-niece, Baileigh Veneta Montague of North Carolina; one devoted friend, Deitrich Tucker of North Carolina, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Darnell Sydnor will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Brian Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 PM.
