Mr. Jerry Lee Crute, 71, of Charlottesville, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, March 8, 2010 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Mr. Crute was born in Chase City, VA December 4, 1937 to the late Lonnie Louis and Ida Powell Crute. He was the owner and operator of Crute’s Taxi Service while living in South Hill, VA. Mr. Crute moved to Charlottesville in 1975 and was previously employed by Allied Van Lines, the University of Virginia Police Dept. and with the City of Charlottesville Transit Service. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Cherishing his memories are a daughter, Dorothy M. Morris (Lee) of Ruckersville, VA; four grandchildren, Lee Patric, Tiffany Nicole, Brian Alexander and Keyandra Marie Morris of Ruckersville, VA.; two brothers John Crute (Evelyn) of Keysville, VA and Richard Crute of Richmond, VA.; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Lee Crute will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA., with burial following in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
