Jerry E. Hector

Jerry E. Hector, 43, of Richmond, VA formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, May 6, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Hector was born August 21, 1963 in Chase City, VA to Porter J. and Bessie Mae Martin Hector. He was a 1981 graduate of Clifford J. Scott High School. He received numerous awards for various achievements and was a member of the Nation Honor Society. He also attended Kings College in Union, New Jersey. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving under the CIA. Jerry was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in East Orange, NJ and served on the usher board and was active in Sunday school. He was previously married to Glinda Smith. Cherishing his memories are two sons, Keith and Kenneth Hector both of Baltimore, MD; his parents Porter Jr. and Bessie Mae Hector of Chase City, VA; one brother, Claude Hector (Maxine) and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jerry E. Hector will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday. May 12, 2007 at Greater Union Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
