Jerome Anthony Roberts

Mr. Jerome Anthony Roberts, 60, of Appomattox, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at this residence.

Mr. Roberts was born in Chase City, VA on October 11, 1962 to the late Harold Roberts and Mable R. Bacon. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and at an early age joined Greater Union Baptist Church in Chase City. Mr. Roberts was formerly employed by Mecklenburg Correctional Center, and more recently as a nurse’s aide at various hospitals. His lifetime passion was playing the piano; he was a gifted pianist for numerous churches and choirs throughout the area. In addition to playing his keyboard, he enjoyed eating out at different restaurants and was known to dress to impress for any occasion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Irene Ridley Boyd.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his siblings, Peggy Fields (James) of Chase City, VA, Carolyn R. Tucker of Clarksville, VA, Harold Roberts of Bridgeport, CT, Alphonso Roberts of Maryland, Alvin Roberts of Chase City, VA and Nathaniel Roberts (Mattie) of Saxe, VA; one aunt, Bessie Boyd of New Britain, CT, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerome Anthony Roberts will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Evangelist Shirley Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
