Jenetta Rose Smith

Ms. Jenetta Rose Smith, 90, of Clarksville, VA died on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Ms. Smith was born in Charlotte County, VA on August 22, 1934 to the late Oliver and Otena Watson Carden. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. Ms. Smith was a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, playing softball and, hanging out with her grandkids.

She was previously married to Walter E. Smith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Donald Smith; sister, Rose Morton; brothers, Thomas, Ulyess, and George Carden; and a grandson, Carleon Robertson.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Troy Smith (Johanna) of Clarksville, VA; four daughters, Brenda Reed (Gary) of Clarksville, VA, Carrie Stith (Ben) and Maggie Hayes (Harvey) all of Red Oak, VA, and Phyllis Fields of Bullock, NC; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great- grandchildren; one sister, Anita Hunt (Roscoe) of Clover, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jenetta Rose Smith will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with  Jim White speaking. Burial will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
