Jeanette Daniel Somerville

Mrs. Jeanette Daniel Somerville, 92, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Friday, October 18, 2024 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA.

Mrs. Somerville was born in Buffalo Junction, VA October 6, 1932 to the late John Robert and Martha Whitt Daniel. She was a 1950 graduate of West End High School, Clarksville, VA. She was a member of Saint John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA where she was active with the Sunday School, Missionary, Choir, Usher Board, Kitchen Committee, Hospitality Committee and was the Financial Secretary for 20 plus years. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries, retiring in 1998 after 31 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph V. Somerville; her sister, Mary Aster, and her brother, Willie.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Rudolph, Jr. and Kenneth Somerville; grandchildren, Carlos, Kristy, Kiana and Kiara (Kayla); her sister, Mattie Somerville; her brother, James Daniel (Shirley), and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Andy Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in Saint John Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
