Jason Elmore Spencer, Jr.

Mr. Jason E. Spencer, Jr., 77, of Henderson, NC entered eternal rest on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Maria Parham Health, Henderson, NC.

Mr. Spencer was born in Hyde County, NC on March 3, 1947 to the late Jason E. Spencer and Sallie Gibbs. He was a graduate of E. B. Frink High School in Lenoir County, NC and attended Holly Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Kinston, NC. Mr. Spencer was a retiree of the United States Army with twenty-seven years of service. He loved western movies and was a diehard Carolina fan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by three sisters, Verdia, Wilma and Mexico, and three brothers, James, Mack and Ernest.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Madeline H. Tisdale Spencer of Henderson, NC; five sons, Tyrone Spencer, Ivan Spencer, Nick Spencer and Robert Spencer all of Goldsboro, NC and Jamerson Hawkins of Kinston, NC; three daughters, Nina Parker (Dave) of Plainfield, NJ, Kirah Spencer of Henderson, NC and Rachel Evans of Greensboro, NC; twenty-nine grandchildren to include special grandson, Janiel Hilliard; twenty-six great-grandchildren; godson, Rorshon Williams; goddaughter, Karen Hayes; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Hilliard and Odene Smith, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jason E. Spencer, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Richard Mercer delivering the eulogy. Interment will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC. Public viewing for family and friends will begin on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M.
