James O. Osborne

Mr. James Otis Osborne, 70, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Osborne was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 24, 1950. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, and at an early age joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. Mr. Osborne was a devoted employee of Lewis Tree Service with over 44 years of service. Along with spending quality time with his family and friends, he enjoyed a good laugh, playing the guitar and dancing, and playing cards. Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Pauline Bullock and Charlie Bullock; siblings, Virginia, Jessie and Clarence. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted wife, Nannie Lee Osborne of Chase City, VA; sons, James Degree (Tara) of Oxford, NC, David Degree and Willie Degree (Sharita) all of Clarksville, VA; two stepdaughters, Vanessa Dodson of Clarksville, VA and Rose Williams (Terry) of Leesburg, GA; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; his siblings, Charlie Bullock, Shirley Bullock, Robert Bullock (Marie), Clifton Bullock (Cynthia), Edward Bullock, Marlene Jones (Larry) and Joseph Bullock (Kim) all of Chase City, VA and Mary Lee Hipps (Scottie) of Henderson, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mr. James Otis Osborne will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Dennis King officiating. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
