James Lee Perkins

Mr. James Lee Perkins, 76, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Perkins was born August 22, 1946 in Halifax County, VA to the late Freddie and Vea Arthur McCargo Perkins. He was a graduate of Mary M. Bethune High School in Halifax, and a member of Spanish Grove Baptist Church in Scottsburg, VA. Mr. Perkins was a retiree of ABB, and a United States Army veteran. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and yardwork.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Doris Ann Burrell Perkins of Buffalo Junction, VA; two sons, James Albert Perkins of Newport News, VA and Bryant Keith Perkins of Buffalo Junction, VA; five grandchildren; three brothers, Abraham Perkins and Soloman Perkins both of Halifax, VA and Robert Perkins of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Thelma Glass and Catherine Davis both of Halifax, VA and Doris Sydnor of Chesapeake, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. James Lee Perkins will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Spanish Grove Baptist Church, Scottsburg, VA with Pastor Ronnie M. Womack, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
