James Hobson Brummell

Mr. James Hobson Brummell, 66, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Brummell was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 25, 1952 to the late Augusta and Elnora Royster Brummell. He was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA, and he later attended Southside VA Community College. Mr. Brummell was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville, VA where he sang in the Male Choir. He was a former employee of the City of Henderson, NC. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas W. Brummell, and a sister, Hilda Brummell Lewis. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Donna Brummell of Clarksville, VA; three daughters, Kim Brummell of Oxford, NC, Tiffany Brummell of Baltimore, MD and Jamie Brummell of Clarksville, VA; one grandchild, Zeyden Scott; one brother, Augustus L. Brummell, Jr. of Clarksville, VA; one sister, Eleanor B. Terry of Ponte Vedra, FL; five sisters-in-law, eight brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. James H. Brummell will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Cornelius Ogburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
