James Garland Crutchfield

Mr. James Garland Crutchfield, 72, of Boydton, VA entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Crutchfield was born in Boydton, VA June 10, 1944 to the late James Edward and Hazel Mosley Crutchfield. He attended West End High School and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crutchfield was preceded in death by, two brothers, Charles and Burt Crutchfield. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Delphine Buchanan Crutchfield of Boydton, VA; four children, Michael Reynolds (Jackie) of Bracey, VA, Sunshine Pittman and Sophia Blyden both of Fayetteville, NC and James Crutchfield Jr. of Clearwater, FL; three children raised as his own, Shontel Bell (Rev. Sidney) and Marcelle Anthony (Keisha) all of Murfreesboro, TN and LaTisha Elder of Smyrna, TN; 24 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Simms (Alva) of Williamsburg, VA; one brother, Thomas Crutchfield, Sr. (Betty) of Clarksville, VA; mother-in-law, Gladys Buchanan; three brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA.
