Mr. James Fredrick Beattie, 53, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at MCV/VCU Hospitals, Richmond, VA. Mr. Beattie was born in Skipwith, VA February 24, 1965 to James Q. Beattie and Ola Barbara Ann Beattie. He received his education in the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and attended Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. Mr. Beattie was formerly employed as a loader for Capstone Logistics Warehouse in South Boston, VA. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jentis Boyd, Jr. Cherishing his memories are his parents, James Q. Beattie and Ola Barbara Ann Beattie of Skipwith, VA; his fiancé, Leslie Harris; six sons, Frederick Beattie (Forever) of Richmond, VA, Pattrick Beattie of Roanoke, VA, Brian B. Coles of Danville, VA, TyQuan and Tyrik Beattie both of Red Oak, VA and Matthew Harris of Stovall, NC; three daughters, Takquela and Taquirist Beattie both of Red Oak, VA and Janiya Beattie of Clarksville, VA; four grandchildren, Desmond, Tayton, Addilynn and Always; one brother, Carl Beattie of Roanoke, VA; four sisters, Renail Atkins (Linwood), Viola Brooks and Emma Long (Calvin) all of Chase City, VA and Frances Beattie of South Hill, VA, numerous devoted nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. James Fredrick Beattie will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will begin on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
