James Clinton House

Mr. James Clinton House, 81, of Chase City, VA exchanged time for eternity on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mr. House was born in Mecklenburg County, VA October 6, 1939 to the late James Edward and Louise Ardell Brown House. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Greater Hayes Grove Baptist Church, South Hill, VA. He was a retired employee of the Mecklenburg County School Bus Garage. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with close family and friends, deer hunting, fishing, watching western TV shows and baseball. In addition to his parents, Mr. House was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Joyce Barnes House and a brother-in-law, Calvin Barnes, Sr. His memory will forever live within the hearts of his wife, Eunice Loretta Barnes Smith House of Chase City, VA; two sons, Daniel Alexander of Chase City, VA and Tommy Alexander (Julie) of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Thomas House (Mintie) of Red Oak, VA, Alphonso House of Richmond, VA, Donald House (Reana) of Boydton, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Greater Hayes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, South Hill, VA with Rev. Dr. Osa Dowdy an Rev. Tyreece Barnes officiating. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
