James B. Perry

Mr. James B. Perry, 57 of Chesterfield, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence.    Mr. Perry was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 30, 1957 to the late Paul Sample and Ann Greene Perry.  After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Army on August 21, 1978 and retired after 20 years of service. James, known as Perry by his family and friends, was a correctional officer with Mecklenburg Correctional Center in Boydton, VA for many years, and he taught at Parkview Middle School in South Hill, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Perry was preceded in death by one sister, Madeline Perry.     He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife of 12 years, Edna M. Perry; one daughter, Ja’Nene Perry (Derrick Diggs); two grandchildren, Brendyn Perry and Madyson D. Diggs; one step-daughter, Dominique Cooper; two brothers, Lindsey Green (Paulette Williams) of New York, William Gregory Perry, (Daisy) of Charlotte, NC; one step-sister, Carleen Battle of Cheriton, VA; a father-in-law, Robert E. Lee Jr.; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mr. James B. Perry will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at The House of Prayer, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Luther Archer Sr. delivering the Eulogy. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday at The House of Prayer from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.   Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.  Services 3:00 P.M.
