Jack Monroe Wilson

Mr. Jack Monroe Wilson, 62, of Washington, DC entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Mr. Wilson was born July 24, 1954 in Charlotte County, VA to Henry Dailey and the late Rosa L. Wilson. He attended the public schools of Charlotte County, VA was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mr. Wilson worked in construction for many years and was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. In addition to his mother, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by two sons, Demetrius A. and Arvell Venable and one brother, Edward Wilson. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Tammy Dailey of Roanoke, VA, Jacqueline Venable and Amanda Haney (Winston) all of Washington, DC; two sons, Marcel Wilson of Chatham, VA and Tirano “Joe” Dailey of Roanoke, VA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his father, Henry Dailey of Chase City, VA; five sisters, Ida Crawley of South Boston, VA, Christobella Graves (Kenneth) of North Carolina, Sophia Vereen of South Carolina, Latonia Prophet (Troy) of Clarksville, VA and Mattie Redd of Washington, DC; four brothers, Thomas Wilson of Clover, VA, Dennis Staten (Grindl) of Drakes Branch, VA, William Wilson and Frank Wilson (Shelia) all of Washington, DC; a very devoted friend, Marilyn R. Wyche of Washington, DC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jack Monroe Wilson will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 26, 2017 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. James Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
