Mr. Ivory Eugene Johnson, 62, affectionately known to family and friends as “ERVIN, ROY, IROY, LITTLE BULL, & RED” was born June 27, 1950 to Victor and Lucille Johnson. He departed this earthly life on November 22, 2012. Ivory was a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1968, Winston-Salem State University Class of 1972, and a 2010 inductee into the Atkins High School Hall of Fame. He was a member of Macedonia Worship Center, a retiree of the Virginia School System, and he continued to work at Pinkston Street Elementary School in Henderson, NC until his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. He leaves to reflect on a well-spent life a loving wife, Catherine of the home; his beloved daughter, Candice of Clemmons, NC; two dear sons, Kevin of South Hill, VA and Marques (Monica) of Charlotte, NC; one grandchild, Lauren Kennedy; siblings, Victor Johnson, Jr. (Constance), Helen Johnson, David Johnson (Barbara), and Raymond Johnson; mother-in-law, Mother Jessie Mason; sisters-in-law, Sandra Johnson and Renee Mason; cousin, Shirley Agee; and a lifetime friend, Jerome Watson (Patricia); and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Macedonia Worship Center with Apostle S.D. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Tuesday at the Church.
