Isaiah Wood

Mr. Isaiah Wood, 62, of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, June 16, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Wood was born in Charlotte County, VA December 31, 1950 to the late James Wood and Blanche Wilson Wood. He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Cherishing his memories are his mother, Blanche Wilson Wood of Saxe, VA; seven sisters, Gracie Pulliam (George)  and Arlene Redd of Keysville, VA, Beulah Wood of Wylliesburg, VA, Sandra Hughes and, Hazel Harris (Lorenzo, Jr.) all of Saxe, VA, Mahelia Smith (Jerry) of Chase City, VA and Joyce Wood of Maryland; two brothers, Irvin Wood of Brooklyn, NY and James E. Wood (Bernice) of Newark, NJ; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Isaiah Wood will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for Mr. Wood will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
