Mr. Isaac Saunders Davis, 82, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the W.S. Hundley Annex, South Hill, VA.Mr. Davis was born in Rehoboth, VA April 11, 1925 to the late Hal and Helen C. Davis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA, a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.He was preceded in death by eight brothers: William, Robert, George, John Thomas, Sam Curtis, Ernest, Nan, and Walter, three sisters: Louise Morton, Eva Venable Stock, and Florence Idell Goode.Cherishing his memories is his wife, Dorothy, of Drakes Branch, VA; one son, Reginald (Gracie), of Chase City, VA; one granddaughter, Robyn, of Petersburg, VA; two step-grandsons, Kevin Smith, of Oxford, NC and Reggie Smith, of Annapolis, Maryland, one brother, Thelbert Davis, of Chase City, VA; three sisters-in-law: Bessie Davis, Katherine Davis and Viola Hayes; one brother-in-law Robert Watson; the residents of the Maple Manor Elderly Apartments, the members of the Chase City Senior Circle, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral services for Mr. Isaac S. Davis will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. Jasper Cheek, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at Giles-Harris Funeral Home.Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
