Inese E. White

Mrs. Inese Elizabeth Hepburn White, 87, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. White was born in Lunenburg County, VA Sept. 14, 1922 to the late George and Lizzie Goode Hepburn. She attended the schools of Luneburg County, VA. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #1, Clarksville, VA where she previously had served as youth Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasure, Missionary, Usher, Trustee and a member of the choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Purvis B. White, two sons, two sisters, and four brothers. Cherishing her memories are four children, Clarence White (Arvis) of Skipwith, VA, Pearl Walker and Rev. Clara Bass both of Clarksville, VA and Barbara White of Yonkers, NY; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Dunn and Katherine Smith both of Yonkers, NY and Susie White of Chase City, VA;  a daughter-in-law, Bertha White; Godchildren, Charonica Mosley, Crystal Mosley and Angela Curtis and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Inese Elizabeth Hepburn White will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church #1, Clarksville, VA with Rev Cleotis Lawson Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
