Mrs. Ida Mae Walker 87, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Monday, October 10, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Walker was born in Charlotte County, VA July 4, 1924 to the late Tommie and Martha Mosley Walker. She attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Fred Watson of Clarksville, VA; two sisters, Nancy Walker of Red Oak, VA and Patsy Bush of Washington, DC; one brother, George Walker of Seat Pleasant, MD; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Bell Walton of Roxboro, NC, Laura Watson, Red Oak, VA and Millie Lee Watson of NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae Walker will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2011 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Caroline Pointer, officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Viewing for Mrs. Walker will begin 10:00 A.M. Friday. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
