Mr. Howard Trent, 85, a resident of Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Cumberland County, VA entered eternal rest Friday, February 8, 2008 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA.Mr. Trent was born March 17, 1922 in Cumberland County, VA to the late Columbus and Florence Burton Trent. He was a member of Tearwallet Baptist Church, Cumberland, VA and a retired sawmill laborer.Cherishing his memories are four sisters, Omega Guions of Irvington, NJ, Essie Martin of Orange, NJ, Annie Brooks of Newark, NJ and Corrine Mercado of E. Orange, NJ; one brother, Junius Trent Jr. of E. Orange, NJ, one devoted niece, Mary Mercado of Wake Forest, NC and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.A private service was held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
