Herman Gene Brooks

Mr. Herman Gene Brooks, 50, Buckingham, VA and formerly Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Southside Community Hospital, Farmville, VA. Mr. Brooks was born in Charlotte County, VA October 15, 1965 to the late Herman Brooks and Juanita Staten. He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother. Cherishing his memories are one brother, Jonathan Brooks (Brenda) of Charlottesville, VA; ten aunts, Gwen Canada, Barbara Brooks and Evelyn Brown all of Chase City, VA, Rosa Williams, Philadelphia, PA, Stella White (Frank) of Pennsylvania, Joann Wilson of Wylliesburg, VA, Barbara Wylie, Peggy Scott (Tyrone) all of Saxe, VA, Geraldine Johnson (Kenneth) of Brookneal, VA, Gladys Jefferson (Darnell) of Richmond, VA; six uncles, Harvey Brooks (Mary) of Falls Church, VA, Ronnie Staten of Wylliesburg, VA, Mike Staten, James Staten (Barbara) of Richmond, VA, Clarence Staten (Marion) of Randolph, VA and Warren Staten (Michelle) of Keysville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. William Washington, officiating.
