Herman Brooks

Mr. Herman Brooks, 71, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Brooks was born in Charlotte County, VA July 10, 1939 to the late Richard Hassie and Mary Dailey Brooks. He attended Charlotte County Schools and was employed in the Logging Industry until retiring. Mr. Brooks was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Staten Brooks; who blessed him with thee children; one son, Glenn K. Brooks also preceded him in death. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Susan Brooks of Massachusetts; two sons, Herman Gene Brooks of Chase City, VA and Jonathan Brooks of Charlottesville, VA; three sisters, Gwen Canada and Evelyn Brown of Chase City, VA and Rosa Williams of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Harvey L. Brooks of Falls Church, VA; goddaughter, Patricia Wade of Charlotte Court House, VA; one daughter-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Herman Brooks will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
