Henry L. Davis

Mr. Henry L. Davis, 84, of Warfield, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Davis was born in Charlotte County, VA on October 9, 1931 to the late Jeff and Ada Eaton Davis. He attended the schools of Charlotte County and was formerly employed by Castle Heights Construction Company as a concrete finisher, taking part in the construction of John H. Kerr Dam in the 1950’s.  Mr. Davis’ favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Davis, two daughters, Carol Davis and Eva Jane Davis, one son, John Henry Davis; four sisters, Jessie Whitehead, Deal Davis, Mary Lee Davis and Emily Davis and three brothers, Jeff, Clarence and Louis Davis. Cherishing his memories are three children, Willie Jean Davis of Newark, NJ, Alin J. Coleman of Boydton, VA and Estelle Thomas (Robert) of Warfield, VA; four step-children, Bernard Davis (Monica) and Angela Davis both of Newark, NJ and Geraldine Davis and Pernell Pendergrass (Charles) both of Henderson, NC; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Corine Hargrove; one brother-in-law, Billy Noel and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Henry L. Davis will be conducted 2:00 P.M. , Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA. Interment will be private. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
