Henry Hutcherson, Jr.

Mr. Henry Hutcherson, Jr., 81, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Hundley Center, South Hill, VA.

Mr. Hutcherson was born in Skipwith, VA on November 22, 1942 to the late Louis Henry and Mildred White Hutcherson. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #1 in Clarksville, and a graduate of West End High School, Class of 1961 where he excelled in basketball. Mr. Hutcherson was a retiree of Burlington Industries, and in his spare time enjoyed watching sports and playing cards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn M. Hayes Hutcherson; son, Antonio Hutcherson; sister, Deborah L. Hutcherson, and three grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, Tara H. Goode (Tony) of Boydton, Va, Tyrone Smith of Clarksville, VA, Angela Hutcherson of Tampa, FL, Rhonda Cypress of Buffalo Junction, VA, Marcus Hutcherson of Boydton, VA, Keith Hutcherson (Angela); Keisha Beasley of Detroit, MI, Roderick Hayes of Charlotte, NC and Christopher Hayes of Georgia; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Theodore Hayes; sister-in-law, Thelma Staten, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Hutcherson, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Cleotis Lawson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutcherson Family Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
