Henry Daniel Elam

Mr. Henry Daniel Elam, 72, of Red Oak, VA entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Elam was born in Charlotte County, VA March 14, 1947 to the late Thomas and Inez Mosley Elam. He attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He worked for Morgan Lumber Company until retiring. In addition to his parents, Mr. Elam was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Louise Rawlings Elam. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Shavonda Elam of Charlotte Court House, VA; five sons, Wayne Rawlings (Pamela) of Oxford, NC, Daniel Rawlings (Wendy) of Meherrinn, VA, Larry Elam (Lisa) of Charlotte Court House, VA, David Elam, Sr. (Angie) of Chase City, VA and Michael Elam, Sr. (Brittany) of Clover, VA; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Elam of Red Oak, VA; four sisters, Virginia Elam of Clarksville, VA, Phyllis Elam of Boydton, VA, Delphine Watkins of Chase City, VA and Louise Thompson of Drakes Branch, VA; one sister-in-law, Nancy Rawlings, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2019 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Loretta Bailey delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
