Mrs. Henrietta Blanch Stovall Ashe, 90, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, December 27. 2015 at VCU/MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Ashe was born in Granville County, NC May 25, 1925 to the late Thomas and Gracie Taylor Stovall. She attended the schools of Granville County, NC. At an early age she joined First Baptist Church of Stovall, NC and was a former employee of Jonbil, Inc. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, fishing and playing cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mason E. Ashe; one daughter, three sons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson, four sisters, and eight brothers. Cherishing her memories are four daughters, Gracie Rebecca Ashe and Joann Ashe of Chase City, VA, Sylvia Love of Boydton, VA and Amelia Harris of Baskerville, VA; three sons, Jesse Ashe of Chase City, VA, Steven Garrett of Trenton, NJ and Larry Shields of Norfolk, VA; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Henrietta Blanch Stovall Ashe will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends, Friday, from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
