Helen Virginia Mitter Bacon

Mrs. Helen Virginia Mitter Bacon, 72, of Philadelphia, PA   formerly of Charlotte County, VA entered eternal rest Monday, April 23, 2007 at Golden Living Center-Stenton, Philadelphia, PA.  Mrs. Bacon was born in South Hill, VA January 27, 1935 to Lula Watkins Mitter and the late Clarence Mitter. She attended Central High School in Charlotte Court House, VA. and was affiliated with Bright  and Morning Star Baptist Church in Philadelphia until her health began to fail. She was a retiree of General Electric.   Mrs. Bacon was preceded in death by her father, one sister and two brothers. Cherishing her memories are one son, Johnny Bacon (Iva) of Williamsport, PA; five daughters, Linda Jones (Abdul), Jackie Bacon and Ginger Bacon all of Philadelphia, PA, Regina Lee (James) and Debra Ellis (Donald) all of Williamsport, PA; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her mother, Lula Mitter of Saxe, VA; two brothers, Charlie Mitter of Baltimore, MD and Clifton Mitter of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Louise Scott of Rocky Mount, NC and Nell Harris (Curtis) of Saxe, VA. Funeral services for Ms. Helen Virginia Mitter Bacon will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA.Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
