Helen B. Thompson

Mrs. Helen B. Thompson, 69, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 30, 1953 to the late Walter Franklin Brown and Rhoena Johnson Brown. She was a 1971 graduate of Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA, and a member of Union Baptist Church in Chase City. Mrs. Thompson was a former employee of Jones Apparel, Inc. in South Hill, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Brown, and a step-brother, Clarence Powell.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Clarence Edward Thompson, Sr. of Chase City, VA; two sons, Clarence E. Thompson, Jr. (Shawndese) of Emporia, VA and Floyd T. Thompson (Brandi) of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rossie F. Brown (Karen) and Wilbur E. Brown (Gloria) both of Richmond, VA; five sisters, Gloria B. Williams (Victor) of Richmond, VA, Patricia Brown and Grace Tucker (Calvin) both of Chase City, VA, Linda Williams of Boydton, VA and Brenda Walker (Calvin) of South Hill, VA, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen B. Thompson will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Monday, July 17, 2023 at Union Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Waverly Brown, Sr. delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
