Hazel Gregory Barnes

Mrs. Hazel Gregory Barnes, 75, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Barnes was born in Boydton, VA March 28, 1935 to the late Milton and Mary Duncan Gregory. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of St. Mark Holiness Church, Boydton, VA. Mrs. Barnes was formerly employed by Dominion Virginia  Power. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Veronica Barnes, Barbara Bell (Wayne) and Juanita Barnes Lewis (Thurman); four grandchildren, Malcolm Bell, Deja Cooke, Trevor and Tyler Lewis; five sisters, Mary Crute, Virginia Blalock (Clarence), Helen Morse (Earl),  Shirley Goodman and Florence Smith; one brother, Joe Louis Gregory and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Gregory Barnes will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Elder Keith Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 Noon until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
