Hazel Deloris Watson

Mrs. Hazel Deloris Watson, 60, of McKenney, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, December 18, 2020 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Watson, fondly known as “DeeDee”, was born in Drakes Branch, VA on June 19, 1960 to the late Ulyess and Octavia Jennings. She was a graduate of John Randolph High School in Charlotte County, and later furthered her education at Southside Community College. Mrs. Watson was a member of Gill Hill Baptist Church in Keysville, and was a former Correctional Officer at Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation in Burkesville, VA. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, wrestling and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Watson, and her siblings, June Drakeford, Jeanella Clayton, Douglas Jennings and Octavia McCargo. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children, Terrance Jennings of Tacoma, WA, Pedro Jennings of Pamplin, VA, Chris Songer of Germany, Charis Squire (Ricky) of Norfolk, VA, and Charles Watson II of McKenney, VA; thirteen grandchildren; five brothers, Ulyess Jennings of Green Bay, VA, Flood "Franklin" Jennings (Estella) of Drakes Branch, VA, John Jennings and Wilson Jennings both of Keysville VA and Melvin Jennings of Danville, VA; two sisters, Joyce Small of Brooklyn, NY and Marilyn Jennings of Winston-Salem, NC; mother-in-law, Lucille Watson of Keysville, VA, five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mrs. Hazel Delores Watson will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Watson Family Residence, McKenney, VA with Rev. Rayvon Johnson conducting the service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required, and please practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
