Hattie Freeman Wood

Mrs. Hattie Jane Freeman Wood, 91, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Wood was born in Lunenburg County, VA March 25, 1918 to the late Henry and Ellen Lester Freeman. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Theotris Wood, three children, Gene and Harry Wood and Theresa Harris; one grandchild, five sisters and two brothers. Cherishing her memories are one son, Larry Wood (Beatrice) of Newport News, VA; five daughters, Rosa Mosley (Calvin) of Red Oak, VA, Lardeva Camerson, Deborah Robertson and Janice Christian (Matthew) all of Richmond, VA and Diana Wood of Chase City, VA; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Jane Freeman Wood will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin W. Pearson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
