Harvey Harris

Mr. Harvey Harris, 92, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest  Monday, October 14, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born in Skipwith, VA  January 10, 1921 to the late Rev. Graham and Ethel Ligon Harris.  He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA  and was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA.  Mr. Harris was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Pulliam Harris, four bothers and four sisters. Cherishing his memories are his two daughters, Ann Timberlake (Ernest) and Laverne Thomas (John) both of Skipwith, VA; four grandchildren, Sharon Carrington of Chesterfield, VA, Yvette Timberlake of Clarksville, VA, Darryl (Rick) Carrington of Atlanta, GA and Verlene Benson (Kim) of Richmond, VA; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Jasmine Phillips of Chesterfield, VA, Torick Carrington  of Decatur, GA, and Jasmine Pope of Petersburg, VA; one great-great-grandchild, Aubree  Carrington of Decatur, GA; one sister, Dorothy Fuller of Chase City, VA; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Harris and Louise Gregory both of Skipwith, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Harris will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, October 20, 2013 at New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery, Skipwith, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time at the church. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Service 1:00 P.M.
