Harvey Britton

Mr. Harvey Britton, 88, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, March 12, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Britton was born in Chase City, VA on October 23, 1932 to the late Lee and Leana Britton. He attended the historic Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA. Mr. Britton was a retired carpenter, and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed walking and building things. In addition to his parents, Mr. Britton was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jack Britton, and two sisters, Selma Henderson and Corine Robinson. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his daughter, Lola Ladson of Yemassee, SC; five grandchildren, Michael Shaw, Lee Fennell and Edward Fennell all of Yemassee, SC, Crystal Seabrook of Summerville, SC and Brittany Shaw-Brown of Ridgeland, SC; twelve great-grandchildren; nephew, Harvey Robinson; three nieces, Deloris Bowling and Carolyn Martin both of Chase City, VA and Theresa Thornton of Augusta, GA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Britton will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 18, 2021 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow on Friday in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia Court House. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, service seating will be limited, and a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing.
