Mr. Harold Thomas Garner, 75, of Roxboro, NC entered eternal rest on Saturday December 17, 2022, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.
Mr. Garner, affectionately known as "Jack", was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 21, 1947 to the late Jessie and Louise Tuck Garner. He attended West End High School, and at an early age, he joined First Baptist Church in Virgilina, VA. He was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA for 10 years, and later retired from ABB in South Boston, VA after 38 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he continued to work part-time, providing lawn services until his health declined. He loved cars and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his ten siblings: five brothers and five sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Vera T. Garner; three sons, Harold "June", Keith, and Kevin all of Durham, NC; two step-daughters; ten grandchildren including Shataisha Garner that he helped rear; four great-grandchildren; a niece raised as his sister, Stella Venable (Clarence) of Clarksville, VA; sister-in-law, Frances Garner of Newport News, VA, and a vast number of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Harold T. Garner will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday December 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Virgilina, VA with Rev. Lorenzo Love officiating. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 3 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
