Harold Irving Newton Sr.

Mr. Harold Irving Newton, Sr. 59, of Bowie, MD and formerly of Buffalo Jct. entered eternal rest on January 10, 2011 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Mr. Newton was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on June 22, 1951 to the late Albert and Annie Carrington Newton, and attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA. At an early age he became a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. After moving to Arlington, VA, he graduated from the Police Academy and became a Police Officer in August 1971.  In l974 Mr. Newton was joined in Holy Matrimony to Deborah Ann Fegans, and was blessed with two lovely children. Harold loved his family dearly and did any and everything he could to make them happy.  They were his pride and joy. Cherishing his memories are his loved ones, Deborah Fagans-Newton, daughter Dana Newton of Bowie MD; son, Harold Irving Newton, Jr., of Lanham, MD; two grandchildren, Devin and LaRae’;  one sister, Mrs. Viola Davis of Irvington, NJ; four brothers, Albert Newton, Atlanta GA, Frank Newton, Chase City, VA, Joe Newton, East Orange, NJ, and Charles Newton, Clarksville, VA; also surviving is his mother-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mr. Harold Irving Newton Sr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Jct., with Rev. James W. Lester, officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
