Gwendolyn Bowers Irvin

Ms. Gwendolyn Florene Bowers Irvin, 73, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA. Ms. Irvin was born August 10, 1946 in Boydton, VA to the late Carroll R. Bowers Jr. and Effie Mae Bowers. She attended Central Elementary in Boydton, and graduated from West End High School in Skipwith, VA. Shortly after graduation she moved to New York where she resided until moving back to her hometown of Boydton. She loved movies and photography, as she took pride in her photos. In addition to her parents, Ms. Irvin was preceded in death by a God-daughter, Cassandra Bowers Thornton. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Janice Bowers of Clarksville, VA, Betsy Bowers of Greensboro, NC, Joyce Bowers of Rosedale, NY, Lisa Bowers Chandler of Lynchburg, VA, Saudia Halim of Richmond, VA, Marilyn Bowers Owens of Boydton, VA; a brother, Keith Bowers of Richmond, VA; an adopted brother, Terick Bowers of Lacrosse, VA; a very special nephew, Damian Northington, and a host of nieces, nephews , other loving relatives and caring friends. She will be greatly missed. Per her wishes, no services will be held. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Keith Bowers and Mona White. Arrangements are by C. H.
