Gladys Anna Pearl Parrish

Miss Gladys Anna Pearl Parrish of Baskerville, VA transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at The Hundley Center in South Hill, VA at the age of 90. Miss Parrish, affectionately known as “Baby Ray”, was born in Wightman, VA on September 11, 1928 to the late Herbert L. and Jennie Hayes Parrish. She attended Wightman Elementary School, and was a member of Northview Baptist Church in South Hill, VA. Miss Parrish was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James, George, Joe and Willie Parrish and six sisters, Mamie P. Smith, Louise Simmons, Odessa Leggins, Corine Elena Parrish, Alma Shirley Taylor and Clara Hayes. Cherishing her loving memories are her son, Ray Lee “Mitch” Parrish (Alma) of South Hill, VA; one grandson, Courtney Parrish; devoted niece, Veronica Brummell; one brother-in-law, Meritt Leggins, her numerous friends at Northview Adult Home, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Miss Gladys Anna Pearl Parrish will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 5, 2019 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Minister Alma L. Mayo delivering the eulogy. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
