Geraldine Faye Merritte

Ms. Geraldine Faye Merritte, 69, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her residence. Ms. Merritte was born October 25, 1947 in Union Level, VA to the late Alfonso and Emma Phillips. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was formerly employed by Russell Stover Candies, Burlington Industries and most recently MeadowView Terrace. In addition to her parents, Ms. Merritte was preceded in death by one sister, Albena P. Jackson. Cherishing her memories are her loving children, Jacqueline Coleman (Alfred) ,Sabrina Reynolds all of Clarksville, VA, James Merritte of Richmond, VA and Nakia Merritte (Sherri) of San Antonio, TX; adopted children, Terry and Teresa Ligons; eight grandchildren, two adopted grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Conley of Sumter, SC, Julia Baskerville (Clarence) of South Hill, VA and Mary Phillips of Halifax, VA; devoted friends, Ann Goode and Catherine (Cat) Thomas; two special helpers, Ralph Short and Floyd Baskerville and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Ms. Geraldine Faye Merritte will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 9, 2017 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Robert L. Faulcon, Sr. officiating. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
