Geraldine Elizabeth Prophet

Mrs. Geraldine Elizabeth Thomas Prophet, 68, of South Hill, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital, Durham, NC. Mrs. Prophet, the seventh child of nine siblings, was born in Chase City, VA June 28, 1950 to the late Archie Thomas and Daisy Gayles Thomas Britton. She received her education in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Mrs. Prophet was previously employed at Burlington Industries for many years and later at Mecklenburg House. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Prophet was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Prophet, Sr.; three children, Michael, Bryan and Tracine; two sisters, Daisy and Louise, and two brothers, John and James. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Valerie Skipwith (Carl), Taunya Crawley (Matthew) and Caprecia Bailey (Ferris); two sons, Hunter Prophet, Jr. and Kevin Prophet; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Bates, Lillie Pettus (Jerry) and Rosa Boyce (Richard); one brother, Ernest Thomas (Irene), and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Mack Talley, officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing for family and friends will begin 10:00 AM Saturday morning. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
