Gerald Bruce Smith

Mr. Gerald Bruce Smith, 53, of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Brodnax, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Brodnax, VA. Mr. Smith was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 23, 1965 to the late Lenton, Sr. and Mildred Long Smith. He was a graduate of Brunswick Senior High School, Lawrenceville, VA. Upon relocating to Las Vegas, NV, he joined Bread of Life Ministries of His Glory, Las Vegas, NV where he served as head usher. Mr. Smith was presently employed by Silver State Transportation in Las Vegas as a dedicated supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie C. Harris. Cherishing his memories are his siblings, Linda McGowan (Eric) of Reisterstown, MD, Gloria Smith of Lanham, MD, Lenton Smith, Jr. (Betty) of Lawrenceville, VA, Mildred Waye (Larry) of Victoria, VA, Cherhyl Smith and Krista Smith both of South Hill, VA, William Smith of Brodnax, VA, Carlos Smith of Richmond, VA and Ava Smith of Silver Spring, MD; three aunts, Lillie Mae Mitchell of Brodnax, VA, Annie Johnson of East Orange, NJ and Mary Long of Chase City, VA; one uncle, Ernest Alexander of South Hill, VA; his co-workers, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Gerald Bruce Smith will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Lovely Moore officiating. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
