George Robert Martin

Mr. George Robert Martin, 83, of Clarksville, VA passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA.

Mr. Martin was born in Boydton, VA March 20, 1941 to the late George, Sr. and Patty Smith Martin. He received his education from the Mecklenburg County School System and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Clarksville Congregation. Mr. Martin was a retired employee of the Department of Correction in Haynesville, VA. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Martin, Thomas Martin, and Eddie Martin, Sr., and one sister, Eula Martin.

Cherishing his memory is his wife, Beverly Mosley Martin of Clarksville, VA; two sons, James Martin (Karen) and Gary Martin; one daughter, Annie Bell Woodson (Irving); a step-daughter, Zenobia Gibson; five grandchildren, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Mr. George Robert Martin will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Clarksville, VA with Brother Vincent Meade officiating.
