George Newton Jr.

Mr. George Newton Jr. 88, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mr. Newton was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Nov. 20, 1920 to the late James and Bertha Reed Newton Sr. He received his education in the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. He retired for Burlington Industries after 35 years of service. Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his wife, Eura M. Hutcherson-Newton, a twin brother, James Newton (Jimmie), a brother Willie Newton, and a sister, Etta Newton-Faulkner. Cherishing his memories is one daughter, Tryna J. Newton-Terry (Leonard) of Clarksville, VA, two granddaughters, Trymiko L. Terry (Randy) of Clarksville, VA and Tracey L. Terry-Fields (Keith) of Nelson, VA; one sister, Sara Newton Wilkerson of Laurel, MD; one brother, Emmerson Newton of Laurel, MD; one aunt, Anna Fuller, devoted nephew, Henry L. Hutcherson Jr.; two devoted nieces, Joyce L. Gooch and Eura Newton Hayes, a very special great-great niece, Kelly N. Goode and five adopted grandson, Darien Small, Taveion Small, Jaleel Small, Khalil Small and Moses Small IV and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. George Newton, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. with burial following in the Hutcherson family cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation service, 216 4th Street, Clarksville, VA.
