Gail Cecelia Bass

Ms. Gail Cecelia Bass, 69, of South Hill, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.

Ms. Bass was born in South Boston, VA July 1, 1955 to the late Matthew, Sr. and Estelle Beasley Bass. She was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School and a member of New Light Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. She was a previous employee of Russell Stover Candies.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Bass was preceded in death by her siblings, David and Tony Bass, Linnette Spencer and Frances Watson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Christina Bass Whitfield (Calvin) of Broadnax; two grandchildren, two sisters, Mildred Bass and Deborah Bass of Richmond, VA; three brothers, Matthew Bass Jr. (Francine) of Jacksonville, NC, Calvin Bass (Margaret) of Chesterfield, VA and Frank Bass of Washington, DC; two sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August, 18, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
