Gable W. Goode

Mr. Gable W. Goode, 86, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Sentara MeadowView Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mr. Goode was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 30, 1929 to the late James R. and Hattie L. Goode. He was a member of William Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, VA, where he served as a Trustee. Mr. Goode worked at Emory Mills and retired from the Town of Chase City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goode was preceded in death by four brothers, John Henry, Elmore, Abraham and Frank Goode; sister-in-law, Mary Goode and a brother-in-law, Harry Thompson Sr. Cherishing his memories are his wife of 49 years Trentice Morgan Goode of Clarksville, VA; two sisters, Carrie Lee Thompson of Chase City, VA and Annie Bea Hargrove (Frank) of Lancaster, PA; one brother, Harry Lee Goode of Chase City, VA; two sisters-in-law, Francis Goode of Chase City, VA and Juanita Goode of Oxford, NC; a devoted nephew, Emmanuel Thompson, Sr. and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Gable W. Goode will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Williams Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends, Wednesday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Services 11:00 A.M.
