Fredene E. Oliver

Miss Fredene E. Oliver, 66, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, March 26, 2015 at CJW/Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Miss Oliver was born in Farmville, VA June 29, 1948 to the late Frederick and Fannie Elizabeth Giles Oliver. She graduated from West End High School in 1965 where she was class president. She received  two Master’s Degree in Education, the first one from Virginia State University in 1978 and the second one from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988. With 35 years of experience, Ms. Oliver specialized in special education on all levels in the Richmond Public School System. Ms. Oliver was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Richmond, VA. Cherishing her memories are nine cousins, Dorothy Marlene Gary and Ernest Cartrelle Farrar of Chase City, VA; Charles Edward Giles Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Dr. Waldron Giles of Wilmington, DE; Allie Holloway of West Caldwell, NJ; June Wigfall of West Orange, NJ; Joyce Robinson of Atlanta, GA; Ann Carol Giles of New York City; and Cynthia Porter of Owings Mill, MD. She also leaves her three best friends, Berthenia Taylor, Shirley Branch, and Jackie Dempsey. Funeral services for Miss Fredene E. Oliver will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
