Freddie Lee Beattie

Mr. Freddie Lee Beattie, 78, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Beattie was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 8, 1937 to the late Etta Mae Seamster Beattie and Thomas Jefferson Beattie.  He attended the Thyne Institute and was a laborer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Dessie Mae Beattie and his  siblings Leroy Beattie, Curtis M. Atkinson, Buddy Beattie, Homer Wilson, Johnny Dyre, Charity, Fannie and Mollie Stephens, Earline Barnes and Mildred Bugg. He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings, Larry Beattie (Shirley), Clarence Atkinson (Rebecca), Timothy Beattie, James Q. Beattie (Ola B.), John Beattie, Virginia Jackson, Helen Royster and Shirley Parker (Joe); numerous nieces and nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Freddie Lee Beattie will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 28, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.   Memorial Service 1:00 P.M.
