Fred Junior Jones

Mr. Fred Junior Jones, 81, of Keysville, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 24, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Jones was born in Charlotte County, VA on February 2, 1943 to the late Stephen and Mary Elizabeth Jones. He was baptized at an early age and became a member of Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville, VA. Mr. Jones attended Charlotte County and Chatham schools, later earning his GED. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a cannoneer, truck driver, and assistant gunner. After his military service, he worked many years and retired from Evans & Black and later from Appomattox River of Keysville, VA. Mr. Jones had a passion for fishing, hunting, and sports, with a particular love for baseball.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, John Jones.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his dedicated wife of 60 years, Lillian P. Jones of Keysville, VA; his son, Darnell Jones of Saxe, VA; two grandsons, Jordan and Devin Jones and his daughter-in-law, Angela Pulliam-Jones, all of Chesterfield, VA; brother, Stephen Jones of Keysville, VA; five sisters, Gloria Eanes of Richmond, VA, Lillie Mae Thompson of Keysville, VA, Mary Lou Jones of Farmville, VA, Cheryl Whitlow (Johnny) of Richmond, VA, and Sandra Harding (Dennis) of Keysville, VA, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Junior Jones will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church, Keysville, VA with Rev. Rayvon Johnson, officiating. Interment with honors will follow in Mt. Ellis Baptist Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA. Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Jones on Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.
