Frances Maxcine Watson

Mrs. Frances Maxcine Bass Watson, 65, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Chase City Health and Rehab, Chase City, VA.

Mrs. Watson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on September 14, 1957 to the late Matthew and Estelle Beasley Bass. At an early age, she joined New Light Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. Mrs. Bass attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and furthered her education in Job Corps in Culinary Arts. She was previously employed by Crawford Manufacturing in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Watson was a loving mother-figure and caregiver to her nieces, nephews, and to anyone in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Watson; one brother, David Bass; sister, Linette Spencer, and two sisters at birth.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory four brothers, Frank Bass of Washington, DC, Tony Bass (Yvonne) of Chase City, VA, Matthew Bass, Jr. (Francine) of Jacksonville, NC and Calvin Bass (Margaret) of N. Chesterfield, VA; three sisters, Gail Bass of South Hill, VA, Mildred Bass and Deborah Bass both of Richmond, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances M. Watson will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Burial will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing for Mrs. Watson will begin on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time.
