Frances Baskerville Love

Mrs. Frances Baskerville Love, 95, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC. Mrs. Love was born in Cliffside, NC on October 18, 1926 to the late Elbert Odell and Minnie Lou Hoyle Hamrick. At an early age, she sang and served in church in Cliffside, NC. She graduated from high school in Forest City, NC, and relocated to Washington, D.C., and then on to Brooklyn, NY. While there she attended Brooklyn College and Beauty School. She opened Adrianne’s House of Charm, an exclusive beauty salon, garnering respect for her creative hairstyles. Later, she and her husband, the late Gilbert Baskerville, Sr. relocated to Clarksville, VA and joined New Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Love continued in the cosmetology profession while working as an educator in Mecklenburg County. In her golden years she married the late Willie Love of Chase City. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her sisters, Karin Simpson, Gladys Holly and Jacqueline Woodland and brothers, Elbert Odell Hamrick, Jr., Kenneth Hamrick, Thaxton Hamrick and Willie Hamrick. She leaves not to mourn her passing, but to cherish many loving memories her two children: daughter, Tanya Baskerville Smith of Baltimore, MD and son, Gilbert Baskerville, Jr. of Clarksville, VA; stepson, Gary Baskerville of Atlanta, GA; grandson, John N. Smith, III of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Myrtle Elaine Powe of Brooklyn, NY and Donnie Jones of Stanley, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mrs. Frances Baskerville Love will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Mack Talley officiating. Mask are required to be worn for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
